TUITION: PIANO TUITION for one year (12 months) of piano lessons is $900. Tuition is calculated by taking $18.75 per 1 lesson per week x 48-weeks; this takes into account the 4 weeks of vacation time. The amount equals: $900 ($18.75 x 48-weeks = $900). $900 divided by 12 months equals $75 per month. Some months you may have as little as 3 lessons, some months as many as 5 lessons. Again, the tuition amount is divided evenly over 12 months. This can be confusing, so please feel free to ask any questions.
VOICE TUITION for one year (12 months) is $1440. $30 for a 45-minute lesson per week x 48-weeks = $1440. $1440 divided by 12 months equals $120 per month. The tuition amount is divided evenly over 12 months, just as it is for the piano tuition.
Monthly tuition payment of $75 for Piano Students and $120 for Voice Students is ALWAYS due and payable BEFORE the first DAY of each month, usually the last full week of the prior month. If you know you will be missing a lesson the week tuition is due, you are still responsible for getting tuition to me ON TIME.
Also, new students are required to pay a $30 NON-REFUNDABLE Registration Fee. This will guarantee that the spot they are asking to be signed up for will be allocated to them. Returning students will always have priority in scheduling for the school year.
TYPE OF LESSON: The PIANO student will receive weekly private 30-minute lessons. Young beginning students will not take up the full half hour, due to attention span, amount of material covered, and other individual factors. What you are paying for is a "Lesson. It will at least be 15-minutes in length, if not the full half hour.
All VOCAL students are required to learn basic piano skills as part of their lessons. The 45-minute lesson will include 15-minutes of piano, 15-minutes of vocal warm-ups, and 15-minutes working on their song selections.
AT YOUR LESSON: Come right in! The door will be unlocked and it is not necessary to knock or ring the bell. If you arrive early and another student is finishing their lesson, just have a seat in the living room and wait quietly. PLEASE close any doors behind you as the cats have a tendency to want to escape and they are strictly indoor cats! ALWAYS bring all your books and assignment book. Otherwise, your lesson will be forfeited as there is no way to hear your assigned lesson nor prepare for a new one. Parents: Please do NOT bring your child to a lesson without any books. I will not teach a lesson without them.
MAKE-UP LESSONS: The scheduled lesson time belongs to the student and is reserved for him/her. Students will be allowed to make-up missed lessons due to illness or emergency if there is time during that week to reschedule and only if I have been called in advance. Lessons missed due to the teacher’s absence will always be made up, or a credit for the lesson will be applied to the next month’s tuition.
PRACTICING: Students are expected to practice their lesson assignments daily at home. A list of what should be practiced is always written in the students notebook. Students progress at different rates, but all students DO progress if they prepare their lesson assignments at home as they should. Mrs. Finkle reserves the right to discontinue any student who fails to progress at a satisfactory rate because of consistently unprepared lessons.
